How it Works

StainShield will protect your carpet and fabrics against everyday spillage stains including:
Fat Based Stains: cooking fat, grease, oil
Water Based Stains: red wine, coffee, tea

In addition dirt and grit will not stick to the fibres, thus making daily maintenance easier, more effective and adding years of life to your investment.

Stainshield forms an invisible shield round your carpets and fabrics. Originally developed for the demanding commercial markets, this established formulation is now available for your home protection.

StainShield will not affect the colour, feel or texture of even the finest fabrics, whilst existing fire retardant properties will in no way be affected. StainShield is also 'allergy free'.

Stain Shield innovative high solids formulations of co-polymer resins will assist in the resistance to subsequent cleaning programmes.

Q: Will StainShield affect the feel of my carpet or fabrics?

Q: How long does my after sale service last for?
A: The StainShield post sale care procedures are available for up to 3 years after the carpet has been treated. (Please contact for restrictive clauses).

Q: Will cleaning remove the protection?
A: StainShield innovative high solids formulation of co polymer resins will ensure resistance to subsequent cleaning programmes. Always advise any professional cleaner that you have StainShield protection in order that correct methods are used.

Q: How long does StainShield take to dry?
A: StainShield is quick drying and can be touch dry in 2 hours ensuring minimum disruption. Moisture does however tend to linger underneath the carpet surfaces and in consequence good prolonged ventilation is required.

If a protected carpet is put back into use whilst there is any possibility of moisture remaining in the pile good housekeeping measures should be applied, which would include the removal of outdoor shoes and the strict control of both children and pets.

Premier Care - Carpet 5 Year Protection


Premier Care is designed to make sure that your carpet's appearance is not spoiled by everyday accidents resulting in a stain and provides you with peace of mind that cleaning costs and stain removal are taken care of (subject to Terms and Conditions).

Premier Care isn't a substitute for regular cleaning and maintenance and your sales advisor will be pleased to advise you on the correct care of your carpet.

Common household stains covered by Premier Care are listed below. Please note: other stains not listed here are included. Stain removal is subject to Terms and Conditions.

Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate - Red/White Wine - Alcohol - Tomato Ketchup - Milk - Blackcurrant & Orange Juice - Cola & Other Fizzy Drinks - Curry & Pizza - Spaghetti Bolognese - Grease from foodstuffs - Chocolate & Confectionery - Shoe Polish - Nail Varnish - Cosmetics - Soap Products - Paint & Wax - Human & Animal Bodily Fluids.

Mineral oil and soot are excluded. Bleach and corrosive substances are not covered if your carpet has not been treated with a Homeserve Approved Protector.

Homeserve Approved Protector

A Homeserve Approved Protector can be applied to your carpet (depending on the type of cover purchased). This treatment forms an invisible and durable shield around each fibre, which aids resistance to oil and water-based spills, helping to prevent permanent staining. Stains are much easier to remove, keeping your carpet looking newer for longer. Ask you sales advisor for more information.
